The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 两星给比较拉跨的剧情逻辑和人物动机，这两点实在不太行，加两星给脑洞，这不同于一般恐怖片的设定还是挺有意思的，其实本质上还是部探讨家庭关系的影片，鸟怪是女孩在恶母和懦父阴影下的黑暗面投射，有这样的家庭这女孩真是太惨了，这妈整天直播剪视频当网红走火入魔了，也是挺有现实意义的，比如现在的:抖音网红
莫要把梦想强加在别人身上
是孩童对逼仄窒息的成人世界难得的一点反抗和质问，有着熟悉的郑渊洁味道。制作上有些简陋，人物形象刻板脸谱化，有些低龄，还是适合启发家长和小孩子的。
暗喻很棒，恐怖不足，觉得还差点火候，可能还没有充分挖掘好，应该还有空间发挥
有怪物出现，还没什么可说，可是共用身体伤害是什么操作。她的邻居也太惨了，狗被弄死，自己也受重伤。
小演员演的真好 虽然没有看过原著 但是我觉得改编的很成功 一点都不突兀 小世界小巧思罐头小人~
挺适合带着孩子看的
人孵化鸟，从和鸟的双生灵设计，到彻底变成鸟人，女孩分饰人与鸟演技OK，粘液部分有点不适，看到最后不觉得恐怖，内里是悲伤的。
想要表达的隐喻太直白。只想说，芬兰语……怎么这么难听
还不错吧，效果剧情都还可以，只是结尾有点儿差事儿，再编排的合理点儿就好了！一念之间的感觉！人的心理都有阴暗面，只是在事情面前哪个占主导，一念天堂一念地狱。。。
很怪诞，可能不了解什么北欧移民问题，看的有点恶心，包括妈妈爸爸，都让人不适。
整部电影凝练紧凑，90分钟没有多余的场景和对话；小演员的表现非常出色，仿佛看到一个未来影后的诞生；结局有些生硬，但就像电影的每个情节设计一样，它的不可预测性让人感到惊讶。
剧情比较空，但结局留了足够的空间让人浮想联翩。
没有想到是这样悲伤的故事 小女主演的真好 父亲和儿子之间感觉也有很多内容可以讲 / 大概每个家庭都会有那么一只闯进家门打破幸福幻影的乌鸦 但并不是每个家庭都能把蛋成功孵化 开放式结局加分（女儿呕吐物反刍是因为母亲病态的身材管理要求而催吐“减肥” 比起恶心其实非常现实
有《钛》的味道。一个破碎的原生家庭：软弱的爸爸、虚荣和控制欲强的妈妈，孵化了一个黑暗嗜血的女儿。
表面和谐幸福的家庭实际上自私自利虚伪至极 母亲畸形狠毒的“爱”也让女儿“孵化”出了恶魔 把恶女的内心具象化制造出一道道恐怖戏码 深意与新意并存 算是今年目前最喜欢的恐怖片了
一个小故事，但是挺有意思的。虽然开头任务动机有点怪，但后续的一系列很流畅。小姑娘一人分饰两角，演得不错。这个妈也真是绝了，这一家子唯一一个正常人也给祭了。
类似于“养鬼吃人”的片子，有着北欧电影独特的奇幻和恐怖色彩，但情节处理的一般结局没能免俗。特效化妆不错。
导演长片首作。全片还是有想法的，可惜每个环节都比较平庸。
